i've seen this way of presenting images before, line art on a parchment layer, its just a simple yet effective way of showing a drawing so I thought I would try it out.

Crista Zarafa primarily solitary live on the expansive planes feeding on large flowering plants and vegetation, using the straw like tongue for feeding on nectar and the sharp mandible to feed on vegetation.
Females are slightly larger and stronger compared to the males. It is the females you compete for the attention of males. A males only mating ritual is the flashy fan used to entice a females eye, as the crest is a great marker to his virility and health.

thank you, I wanted some kind of sexual dimorphism so I thought it was a good idea

They look extremely awesome but I have to admit that I'm actually more fascinated by the flying creatures.
Have you been inspired by greg broadmores creatures? (the bodies of the zarafas (especially the legs) kinda remind me of them)

fare enough, I'll be rendering the flyers at some point.
Its funny I didn't see those creature designs until very recently, someone pointed them out to me and I've been in love ever since!! This particular design, legs included had been in my sketchbook for years. But I can see where the connection is made and the cold hard truth is because his designs are better known than mine he gets first dibs on it, which im ok with :)

just little frills, they would be brightly colored in males. The flying critters I decided to leave silhouetted but i'll prob flesh them out at some point.
